WHAT:

Drill Class

The Ray Taber Foundation, a non-profit with the sole mission of providing scholarships to encourage and support students, is hosting its annual free Drilling Exploration Seminar at Taber Ranch in the beautiful Capay Valley. This educational event is a field seminar for graduate and undergraduate civil engineering and geology students. It is often called a "day of opportunity", providing the future leaders of our industry with a unique forum for asking questions, getting answers and having a "hands on" experience with the field equipment and testing and logging protocols that have become the fundamental data gathering tools of geoscience practices.

Drill Class

The Taber Ranch has generously donated its facilities and grounds to house the event and Taber Drilling has, as they have for 20+ years, committed to donating exploration/testing equipment AND field personnel For the day.

HOW:

The Ray Taber Foundaiton is seeking organizational-level support For our annual Free Drilling Seminar. The three main avenues of participation are...

  • (1) Sponsorship: All donations go directly To student scholarships in the local and regional communities. Sponsors are honored for their support with their organization's logo displayed on event promotional materials and social media.
  • (2) Job Fair: Introduce your organization to 100+ students and prospective young professionals at the Job Fair station. Job Fair station exhibit sponsorships are $500.
  • (3) Volunteer: Share your expertise with students as a presenter at one of the three teaching and learning stations: Rotary Drill, Auger Drill, or CPT Rig.

If you have interest in volunteering your time as a presenter, having your firm become a sponsor or suggesting an industry vendor, or just have questions about the seminar, please contact the class registrar:
